Basin 14 Watershed Plan Public Discussion to be Held in Bradford

The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (VT DEC) and the White River Natural Resources Conservation District (WRNRCD) will be co-hosting a meeting to kick-off the 5-year update of the Basin 14 Tactical Basin Plan on November 13th at the Space on Main in Bradford, VT from 4:30pm – 6:00pm. Basin 14 includes the Stevens, Wells, Waits, and Ompompanoosuc River watersheds as well as Mid-Connecticut River direct tributaries. Two satellite meetings will also be held; one in Montpelier by the Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission and one in St. Johnsbury by the Northeastern Vermont Development Association. In addition, a webinar will be offered to the watershed community online to participate during the same date and time.

This kick-off meeting will include a presentation and discussion on the plan update by State Watershed Planner, Danielle Owczarski. Attendees will learn where water quality restoration and protection efforts have been identified and what local watershed partners are doing to help protect surface waters within each watershed. The Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission (TRORC) will be participating in this plan update process as the Wells, Waits, and Ompompanoosuc Rivers are all located within the TRO Region.

Anyone with a stake in water quality is encouraged to attend! Drinks and snacks will be provided. See the attached flyer for more information.
