Lyndon Adopts River Corridor Protections

In early September the Lyndon Select Board put the final touches on many years of effort between the State of Vermont, the regional planning commission, and the Town of Lyndon. A collaboration between the Department of Environmental Conservation and Northeastern Vermont Development Association to provide technical assistance and expertise to the Town of Lyndon has resulted in stronger flood plain regulation and river corridor protection. These changes in municipal bylaw will protect against future property damage and provide greater flood resilience to one of Vermont’s most flood prone communities.
